About
Built by a doctor. For doctors and practice owners.
PolyMedica isn't a generic medical distributor. We're a lean, doctor-led consumables company built for Australian GP clinics — the practices that actually do the work, day in and day out.
How it started
PolyMedica was founded by a practising Australian GP who spent years buying packs from suppliers who'd never sat in a consult room. The drapes were the wrong size. The instruments were the wrong grade. The trays were wasteful. The economics didn't stack.
One size doesn't fit all. And quality shouldn't come at a premium cost.
Wasteful packaging frustrated us as much as wrong-grade instruments. We're environmentally minded by default — not as a marketing line, but because shipping polystyrene to clinics already drowning in single-use waste is indefensible.
So we built the answer ourselves — first to fix it for one practice, then for every Australian clinic quietly putting up with the same thing.
Our range
Carefully selected. Built around how Australian GPs actually work. Environmentally considered from the first sketch — not greenwashed at the end. Every product earns its place: ARTG-registered, manufactured to AS 5369:2023, costed honestly.
We're a young company with a growing range. That's deliberate. We'd rather ship a handful of products our customers love than a catalogue they tolerate.
Operations
Headquartered in Wangara, Western Australia. ABN 56-679-417-531. GST-registered. National delivery. One supplier on your invoice. One delivery day. One subscription.
Why we're different
| ARTG-registered, verifiably | Every pack carries an ARTG number you can check on the public register. No ambiguity. No "compliant equivalent" claims. |
| Australian-billed, Australian-shipped | Wangara WA fulfilment. Local invoicing under an Australian ABN. GST-ready for your accountant. |
| Subscription, not ad-hoc | Monthly cadence, locked pricing, predictable budgeting. Your practice manager doesn't reorder — we just turn up. |
| Sustainability that's costed | Bagasse trays replace polystyrene. 316 stainless steel rebate program returns instruments for credit. Real numbers, not green claims. |
How we help your accreditation
The upcoming RACGP 6th edition Standards for General Practices (currently in consultation) embed environmental sustainability and infection prevention and control as core themes. Three things your auditor will look for — handled at the procurement layer:
| Single-use sterility — reduce cross-contamination risk from sterilisation cycle failures | Every pack ARTG-registered, sealed-pouch sterile, manufactured to AS 5369:2023. |
| Landfill-diverted packaging — move away from polystyrene | Bagasse trays, industrially compostable, made from sugarcane waste. |
| Recyclable medical-grade waste — close the loop | 316 stainless steel rebate program returns instruments for credit instead of landfill. |
Your procurement choice is your audit proof.
Our pillars
| Quality | Manufactured to AS 5369:2023. Validated supply chain. Every batch traceable. |
| Compliance | Aligned with RACGP Standards — built around the principles of the upcoming 6th edition. ARTG-registered. AS 5369:2023. |
| Practice economics | Costed against your existing supply spend, not premium hospital benchmarks. Monthly subscription beats the cobbled-together status quo. |
| Owner-led | Every product spec, every clinical decision, every customer interaction still passes through a working GP's desk. |
The promise
PolyMedica exists to be the consumables partner Australian GP clinics actually wanted — built by people who've done the work, listened to the field, and refuse to ship what doesn't earn its place in your practice.
Aligned with the principles of the upcoming RACGP 6th edition Standards. We've got you covered.
